Youth Leadership programme offered local young people a great opportunity to advance their education and life opportunities.
Ten young people from Drimnagh were awarded University Certificates in Youth Leadership and Community Action at a graduation ceremony in the National University of Ireland, Galway, on Saturday October 15th.
The young people aged from 15yrs – 20yrs attended the ceremony having successfully completed an eight-month Youth Leadership and Community Action training programme. The programme was funded and delivered by the St John Bosco Youth Centre, Davitt road, Drimnagh.
The young people who completed the programme were required to develop their leadership skills and carry out community action projects. Some of these projects included the young people planning and delivering music classes to young children and designing a holistic and meditation room within their youth centre.
